Institute of Engineering (IOE), comprises the consortium of technical institutes which coordinate and provide the engineering education in Nepal under the umbrella of Tribhuvan University . Established in 1972, IOE is Nepal's oldest and the widest engineering education consortium, which consists of Pulchowk campus, Thapathali Campus, Eastern Region Campus and Western Region Campus.
"Pulchowk Campus" is the most reputed college affiliated with IOE. Every year IOE conducts an entrance exam for Bachelor of Engineering in different faculties. Students from all over Nepal aspiring to study engineering appear in this exam and only the top students in merit basis get the chance to study in Pulchowk Campus.
