B.P. SANN Institute of Nursing (SION)

The primary objective of SANN Institute of Nursing (SION) is to provide quality nursing education and experience to Nepalese as well as youths (both male and female) from the SAARC region at a reasonable cost. Beginning January 2003, the institute will offer courses in Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and in 2004 a Bachelor of Science in Nursing will also be offered. Both of these will be US university based programs. Most of the training will be in Nepal to reduce the cost of training and to make adjustment gradual. The last part of the training will take place in the US.

Institute of Medicine, Nepal (IOM)

Institute of Medicine (IOM), Nepal, located in the capital city of Kathmandu, is the premier medical institution of Nepal.

Institute of Medicine (IOM), established in 1972 at Tribhuvan University, was entrusted with the responsibility of training health care workers at all levels for the health care manpower needs of Nepal. Within the first decade of its establishment, the IOM developed a total of 12 campuses scattered over the country -- 3 campuses in Kathmandu and 9 campuses outside the Kathmandu Valley.

B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), established in 1993, upgraded to a University in 1998, is an autonomous Health Sciences University with a mandate to work towards developing socially responsible and competent health work force. Striving continuously to meet the health needs of the eastern region of Nepal at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels is its primary responsibility.

Manipal College of Medical Sciences

Manipal College of Medical Sciences is the first private medical school in Nepal. Established in 1994 and located in Pokhara, the school is affiliated with Kathmandu University. The school is the result of a collaboration between the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG)and the Government of Nepal.
