The Undergraduate Medical Program, MBBS, of the Universal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal, admits 100 students in each academic year. The MBBS batch commences every year, from the month of November, into the four and half years’ course of study, divided into three phases; in addition to a year of compulsory rotating internship. Thus the total duration of the program is five and half years. The Medical Education is based on community orientation, integration and problem solving. The Curriculum thus reflects an innovation in undergraduate Medical Education. Early exposure of learners to Community Medicine and Bedside clinical teaching, not only helps learners realise the importance of the course of study, but also enables them to become motivated towards self learning.
